NOT – Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart

Edwards, Gordon and Stewart all had a buzz around them heading into the start of 2015 and each of them has gotten off to a slower start than they would have liked.

Edwards is running the best of the three as he is 23rd in the points. Edwards has had the misfortune of being involved in a couple of wrecks which has ultimately led to some poor finishes. Gordon much like Edwards has also been in some wrecks this season. In fact, Gordon has been in a wreck every race. His wrecks in Daytona and Atlanta took him out of the race and his wreck in Las Vegas damaged his car and resulted in an 18th-place finish. In Phoenix Gordon and Edwards simply need to avoid wrecks because doing so might result in a quality finish.

Stewart has had some bad luck also but his issues mostly rest in the new setup package that NASCAR debuted this season. Stewart is struggling to figure out how to make the new package work and this past weekend in Las Vegas he was more than vocal over his radio about his dislike for the new setups. Once Stewart gets a grasp on the new package he should find success, it’s just a matter of when that happens.
