Bad Week: Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Finishing last in a race is a sure-fire way for a driver to have a bad week. Finishing last in a race when you have a car that is at least good enough for a top-15 only adds salt to the wound.

Earnhardt Jr. had a bead melt which caused some tire issues for him this past weekend in Phoenix. This happened after he had recovered from being caught speeding on pit road and had worked his way back through the field. The result of the tire going down was a hard hit into the wall and a lot of damage to his No. 88 Nationwide machine.

The 43rd-place finish snapped his streak of top-five finishes this season. Coming into Phoenix Earnhardt Jr. had a pair of 3rd-place finishes to go along with a 4th-place finish in Las Vegas. Earnhardt Jr. had himself a bad week but he by no means had himself the worst week ever.
