No.1 Jimmie Johnson prevails in a spectacular battle against Matt Kenseth (2007).

Kenseth who had already lost the Texas battle against Burton in the spring race was hoping to turn things around and beat Johnson in the fall race. However, he had changed just two tires in the previous stop while Johnson was on four. Knowing of his advantage Johnson was cold-blooded enough to cool the tires down before preparing the final attack to take the first spot. With two laps to go Kenseth was finally cleared by the championship leader who won and extended his points lead over Gordon. For Kenseth it was the second heart-breaking defeat in a row at Texas.
