NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Richmond
Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports
HOT – Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon continues to trend in the right direction.
In Bristol Gordon had his best finish of the 2015 season when he came home in the 3rd position. Gordon’s finish at Bristol marked his fifth consecutive top-10 finish of the season. Gordon’s Bristol run also moved him into the top-10 in the point standings for the first time this season.
At Richmond on Saturday night Gordon is going to look to keep this momentum going. As Gordon continues to run well one has to assume that he is going to start winning races sooner rather than later. If the consistency remains for the No. 24 team and then they begin to win races, it could be trouble for the rest of the field.
Many want to make the run to a championship in 2015 a two-man race between Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick. However, if Gordon is able to keep his momentum going he might have something to say about that come time for the chase.
