After the unpleasantness following the race at Richmond two Sunday’s ago, it became apparent that Tony Stewart is frustrated.  Who could blame the guy at this point though considering the season he has had thus far? Talladega was a little better but it was still another finish outside of the top-15, his ninth such finish in 10 races this season.

Fortunately, I have been a NASCAR fan long enough to know that we should never count out one of the most talented drivers on the planet simply because he has had a rough couple of months on the track.  It is quite possible to turn the season around, heck a win at the wire could change everything for the No. 14 team.

Now, the main question becomes what are the key components that Smoke needs to get back to victory lane?  He is no longer just the president of the Stewart Haas Racing family but he is quickly becoming one of it’s least statistically successful drivers, at least for this season, as it stands right this second.  If nothing else I am an optimist.
