Austin Dillon:

  • Age: 25
  • Xfinity Series Wins: 3
  • Best Sprint Cup Series Standings Finish: 20th

Austin Dillon is one of the best young drivers in NASCAR today. He rose up after his great finishes and Championships in the Camping World Truck Series (2011) and the Nationwide Series (2013). It also helped that he is the grandson of legendary NASCAR figure Richard Childress.

His journey in NASCAR made a leap when he won the Rookie of the Year award in the Camping World Truck Series (2010). He went on to win 6 races there and eventually moved up to the Nationwide Series in 2012 where he would win 3 races.

In December 2013, Dillon brought the #3 car back to the Sprint Cup Series and raced with the sponsors of Cheerios and Dow. He continued his rise after winning the pole for the 2014 Daytona 500. In 2015, he represents the #3 car in the Sprint Cup Series and the #33 car in the Xfinity Series.

In his short amount of time competing in the Sprint Cup Series, he has accumulated 5 top tens and 1 pole. He just recently had a chance at a win in Bristol before a late caution caused him to run out of gas. It just seems like he’s right there and one of these days he’ll break through for that first career Sprint Cup Series win. There’s one thing that’s for sure: we’re going to be seeing him and his trademark cowboy hat for a long, long time.
