NASCAR’s Top-10 Prospects To Watch Out For
4. Ross Kenseth
Although he has the Kenseth name one of the more admirable qualities about Ross and his career is the fact that his father and former Sprint Cup Series Champion Matt Kenseth, have publicly said that Matt hasnt “given” him anything and that he has earned it. The past two weeks have been huge for Ross as he won the ARCA Racing Series event at Michigan just before making his Xfinity Series debut at Chicagoland. Chicagoland saw Kenseth spin his car in practice coming out of turn 3 but then was miraculously able to save it. He then went on to finish 6th in his debut.
Like his father the one word that comes to mind when describing Ross’ driving style is solid. He will get you in contention to win any race and although may seem laid back from a spectator standpoint, he is driving as fiercely as anyone can behind the wheel. It is also to note that Ross won the All American 400 in 2012.
Some of Matt’s words on Ross:
"“One of my best friends I grew up with was taking care of his car at the time … and we were standing there watching him,” Matt Kenseth recalled. “I was like ‘That thing is driving like it’s doing this and doing that, he should do this, he should do that.’ So then he came back in, and I went and drove it. Then I came back and said ‘Nevermind, everything he’s telling you is exactly right, just forget it.’ So I put my street clothes back on and didn’t drive it anymore.”"
