NASCAR: The Darker Side Of Jeff Gordon

Not much is known about what happened between Gordon and Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen in 2000. I searched for a video of the on track incident, but kept being directed to their tirade after the encounter. I then google searched what had happened and finally found a brief description of the incident on Tony Stewart’s Wikipedia page. “Stewart also began to get some bad press for his on-track incidents.”

The Wikipedia page states” The best known of these came at Watkins Glen, when he and Jeff Gordon tangled and crashed. Stewart made his displeasure toward Gordon known in an obscenity-laden tirade.” Looking at the tape of the off track altercation, crews from both teams had to restrain the drivers, as they shouted and screamed about what would happen the next time they saw each other on the track.

Gordon and Stewart tried to get into each other’s face many times, but was restrained by their crew members. I personally would have loved to see what would have happened if they were able to get their hands on each other that day.
