Ryan Newman

Remember Ryan Newman’s run to the Championship race at Homestead last season? Remember how he got there without winning a race? Well, not winning a race has damaged his hopes to make the Chase this season. He is hovering right above the the line and has stayed there for most of the season.

Newman has had a few really good finishes this year including two 3rd place finishes early on but he has been a little inconsistent, racing great one week and bad the next which is the reason why he is barely in the Chase at the moment.

Newman has won at Michigan a couple of times, which is one track left on the schedule before the Chase but Newman’s priority is just going to be making the Chase. Once he is in there, he will have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of tracks like Dover that he usually races well at.

Ryan Newman hasn’t been to victory lane in two years so it’s not guaranteed that he will get a win. He will mostly likely stay in the bottom portions of the Chase but a few slip ups could cost him a spot in the Chase.
