NASCAR: Five Drivers Who Need To Close The Season Strong
USA Today Sports
Kasey Kahne
It was only about 10 races ago that Kahne was looking great. Despite not winning he was running well and he was inside of the top-10 in point standings.
Then Kahne and the No. 5 team fell off the face of the earth, or so it seemed.
In the first 16 races of 2015 Kahne finished in the top-15 on 11 different occasions. In the last 10 races before the Chase, Kahne had a total of two top-15 finishes and five finishes of 24th or worse.
Coming into 2015 Kahne re-signed with HMS in a deal that many didn’t think was going to happen. HMS showed their faith in Kahne coming into 2015 and in 2016 Kahne needs to show the results on the track. To finish the season Kahne needs to get back to what he was doing to start the season because it was obviously working.
Kahne doesn’t want to be at the back of HMS again in 2016, at least that’s what you would have to imagine.
