Whenever the Sprint Cup Series is at Talladega, you never count at one of the greatest drivers of all-time. His 6 wins is tied for the second most and he has been dominant at the track in the past. Earlier in the season, he won the pole and led 47 laps before getting involved in a wreck on the last lap of the race.

The thing that has been special for Gordon during the Chase is the fact that he has been fairly solid and has been hanging in it. He is currently in 6th place and 7 points above the cut line. His experience has been key to turning an average season into a solid Chase run.

Gordon’s final few races are coming up and he is desperate for one more win. With Talladega standing as one of the tracks that he has ran well at in his career, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get to Victory Lane on Sunday and clinch his spot in the next round.
