The Xfinity Series of 2015 is nothing like the Xfinity Series (then the Busch Series) of 1995, or 2000 for that matter. Let’s live a little: 2005 was a completely different season as well. Why is this? Simply put, the division had it’s own unique identity that was different from their Sprint Cup counterpart. Instead of just being a sponsor’s playground for drivers already dominating in the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series was a place for both teams and drivers to mature and grow on their way to greater things.

Now, the term “Xfinity Series regular” is borderline laughable given the status of the division. It’s not a place for drivers to mature and grow, rather, it’s a Cup Series hybrid. Every year now sees Cup drivers dominating on a weekly basis. Sure, Xfinity regulars are winning the championship, but only because limits are being placed on the Cup drivers’ weekly efforts.

It’s a joke to watch Xfinity these days, so here are five things that need to be done in order for the Xfinity Series to regain some sort of dignity and identity.
