NASCAR: Five Ways The Xfinity Series Can Regain Its Identity

1. Help the Underdogs
This is more of a pipe dream if anything, because NASCAR conducts itself as a self-interested business. But if it were to see the true importance of underdog teams such as Jimmy Means Racing (represented above by the No. 52 of Joey Gase), then one would hope that it would step in and get involved in making sure these teams were able to actually compete with the rest of the field.
For every Penske or Gibbs team, we have teams like JMR or TriStar Motorsports with zero influence from the Cup teams. These are the teams that are the true underdogs of the sport and ones that NASCAR should be looking out for. They embody the old-school pioneer spirit of NASCAR, and therefore they are the true gems of the sport.
