Drivers Will Check Themselves This Weekend

After what took place in Martinsville with Matt Kenseth/Joey Logano and Danica Patrick/David Gilliland, drivers will keep their cool this weekend on the track.

NASCAR made it clear after Martinsville what will happen if you wreck a car with intent. Granted, if that car isn’t in the Chase the penalty isn’t nearly as bad. That being said, I don’t think drivers will trust NASCAR enough to be consistent with penalties and as a result I don’t think anyone will be taking anyone else out.

Now that doesn’t mean that things will still be this way come Phoenix. However, after all of the events coming out of Martinsville I think that cooler heads will prevail on the racetrack. As far as cooler heads prevailing off of the racetrack? Well that is going to be a 100 percent different story this weekend in Texas.
