NASCAR: Five Bold Predictions For Texas
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Erik Jones Will Run Well In Texas
With Matt Kenseth out this weekend it means that Erik Jones will be in the No. 20 machine. Although Kenseth Nation will not be happy this weekend, they will still route for the kid.
This weekend is going to be a solid one for the next star at JGR. Jones has run three times in Texas in his NASCAR career although this will be his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start. In his only Xfinity Series start Jones won at Texas in a race that he dominated. In two Truck Series starts Jones had a pair of top-15 finishes.
In his short career Jones has been impressive at Texas and in his one Sprint Cup Series start (for Kyle Busch) he ran well before his wreck. Jones will give the NASCAR universe a better glimpse at his talent this weekend by finishing inside of the top-15.
