The most known drivers in NASCAR from the Northwestern portion of the United States are Kasey Kahne and Derrike Cope. A driver from the region who never achieved the level of fame but is considered to be among the best short trackers of all-time is Ardenvoir, Washington’s Garrett Evans.

For many short track fans in the region, Evans is the face of racing. In NASCAR’s Northwest Touring series, Evans was the man as he won 49 races and four championships, the most of any other driver. Evans also won twice in NASCAR’s Southwest Tour and has taken victories in the Idaho 200 at Stateline Speedway in 2012 and the Montana 200 at Montana Raceway Park in 2014.

In spite of being nearly 60 years old, Evans is still currently active and successful as a driver having won back-to-back championships in the Tri-Track Super Late Model Series in 2014 and 2015.
