Kyle Busch enjoys summer hot streak – Qualifies for Chase

Kyle Busch took some time to get his feet wet again after returning to competition at the All-Star race in Charlotte in May, but once they were wet, he dove in head-first to complete his comeback.

Just five races after his return, he scored his first of four wins so far in 2015 by winning the Toyota Save-Mart 300 from Sonoma raceway in California. The win was significant because it crossed another requirement to be Chase eligible off of NASCAR’s list.  He had already received an exemption for missing the races that he did due to his injury. He went on to score victories at Kentucky, New Hampshire and Indianapolis.

Following a 2nd-place finish in August at Watkin’s Glen, Busch advanced to the requisite 30th-place in the season-to-date point standings to complete the final requirement to become fully Chase-eligible.
