The Southern 500 returns to Darlington Raceway on Labor Day Weekend

NASCAR purists and legacy fans will tell you that Darlington Raceway + Labor Day Weekend = The Southern 500.  Period.  The end.  Trouble is, for a number of years, that just wasn’t so, and it also just didn’t sit right with many stakeholders.

That wrong was righted on Sunday evening, September 6, 2015 with the return of the Bojangles Southern 500 to Darlington Raceway on Labor Day Weekend.  All seemed right with the world, and the “throwback” theme promoted by the track was a huge success with all involved.

Carl Edwards survived “The Lady in Black” that evening to score his second win of 2015 and his first at Darlington.  The “Track Too Tough To Tame” was back where it belonged, and where it is scheduled to stay for the foreseeable future.
