2015 Rookie of the Year
The Rookie of the Year Award is not designated just for those drivers eligible for Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Instead the Rookie of the Year award looks at some of the best young drivers across all of NASCAR. The drivers nominated in this category are on their way to becoming the next big stars of the sport.
The Nominees:
- Brett Moffitt – Moffitt was named the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year. Moffitt was the highest running rookie 17 times during the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. He finished 34th in the standings with an average finish of 30th during the season.
- Matt DiBenedetto – DiBenedetto came in second to Moffitt in the Rookie of the Year standings. DiBenedetto was the highest finishing rookie 13 times in 2015. DiBenedetto made two more starts than Moffitt and finished 35th in the standings with an average finish of 32nd.
- Chris Buescher – 2015 Xfinity Series Champion.
- Erik Jones – 2015 Truck Series Champion.
