NASCAR: The Five Worst Wrecks Of 2015
No. 3 – Kyle Busch (Daytona)
This was the second “Big One” to take place in this race and the result was devastating at the time for Kyle Busch.
The speed into which Busch hit the exposed inside wall was breathtaking. The fact that Busch emerged from the car was an instant sigh of relief but that relief was taken away when it became evident that he was injured in the wreck. The aforementioned relief was completely gone when Busch was loaded into an ambulance and taken away from Daytona to a local hospital.
While it was devastating at the time, a lot of good came from this accident. NASCAR obviously worked more diligently with tracks to install SAFER barriers and of course Busch recovered and won a title. Would he have won the title if he did not get hurt? Who knows.
