NASCAR: Drivers Jeff Gordon Fans Should Root For In 2016

NASCAR will be without Jeff Gordon for the first time in more than 20 years in 2016 and that will be tough on his fans, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t options out there when it comes to supporting a new driver.

NASCAR fans who supported Jeff Gordon for any portion of the last 23 years find themselves in a very precarious situation heading into the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

Gordon wrapped up his NASCAR career a few weeks ago in Miami and that leaves his fans without a driver to cheer on for the first time in a long time. NASCAR is unlike the team sports in that teams rarely go away whereas the shelf-life of a driver might be somewhere around the 12-15 year mark. Gordon fans were obviously spoiled seeing as how they got 23 out of their favorite driver.

With Gordon no longer racing Gordon fans are now faced with a difficult decision, who do I root for in 2016? The good news here is that there are a handful of places and directions to go. Here are five drivers that Gordon fans should root for in 2016 and beyond.
