From One Retiree To Another

Maybe Gordon fans want to experience and support another farewell tour in 2016? If so, Tony Stewart could be the driver that Gordon fans want to throw their support behind.

In 2015 Gordon became the sentimental favorite to have success and contend for a championship. In 2016 Stewart will take over that role as he runs his last NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Gordon fans and Stewart fans have not always seen eye-to-eye but as both of their drivers have aged things have become much more mellow between the two fan bases.

Stewart is also a great option for Gordon fans who are looking for that short-term deal. NASCAR has been a revolving door of rule changes and controversy over the past couple of seasons and that has made some Gordon fans unsure of their future following the sport the same way that they did when Gordon was racing. Supporting Stewart in 2016 would be a good way to not only support a talent driver and great storyline, but it would also be a great way to feel out what NASCAR is like without Gordon in a short-term capacity.

Of course this will only create the need to find someone else to root for in 2017 which could be a frustrating task.
