No. 3 – Pocono (2006)

Jeff Gordon has had some pretty hard hits in his illustrious Sprint Cup career, but this one has to be one of the scariest, especially with how demolished his #24 car looked when it was loaded on the wrecker by safety officials.  What made it even worse was the fact that he hit the wall on the driver’s side of his car, ultimately forcing him to have to climb over the hood of his car and part of the wall to get to the awaiting safety crews.

The incident is said to be caused by a brake rotor failure, which forced Gordon to lose control of his car, slide down to the grass and finally slam the wall at over 200 MPH. Fortunately Gordon was ok after the wreck, but complained of a slight headache during an interview with reporters.
