After a restraining order, a three-race suspension imposed by NASCAR and countless allegations that threatened to end a career, it had to feel nice to finally be able to have some fun and do some burnouts in front of the Richmond Virginia crowd.
Winning truly does make everything better and that was no different for Kurt Busch and his first win of the 2015 NASCAR season. The win, which was the 26th of the former champion’s career guaranteed him a spot in the Chase and also was a very satisfying response to critics that claimed the domestic abuse scandal would be the end of his NASCAR career.
Busch later went on to win at Michigan, before making it to the third round of the Chase.
