This Shoe Is For You

We all know that one NASCAR fan.

The one that has a little bit too much to drink, maybe gets a little mouthy and starts to take their hatred towards a driver a little too far. One fan definitely went too far when they threw a shoe onto the racing surface during a 2012 Xfinity Series race in Montreal, Canada.

While the reason for the thrown shoe was unknown, some speculated that it was due to fans unhappiness with Danica Patrick leading the race. Unfortunately for Patrick, the shoe would be her undoing, as the foreign object severely damaged her racecar and forced her to surrender the lead to Jaques Villanueve a few moments later.

Wins in NASCAR have been hard to come by for Patrick and potentially losing one in this fashion had to be frustrating.
