Charlotte

Changes Made: An additional 2900 feet of SAFER barriers on the inside of Turns 1 and 2, the entrance to pit road, the back straightaway and the outside of Turns 1 and 4. An additional 1900 feet of tire barriers were added to the inside wall areas of Turns 2, 3 and 4 in the spring of 2015. The only area uncovered is the outside of the back straightaway wall, which engineers have said is not a high-risk area.

Comment: The inconsistency among SMI facilities is staggering. Some are very well protected and others are missing the mark.  Charlotte is missing the mark. The speeds alone at this track are reason to have every inch of both inside and outside walls covered. Improvement needed.
