Changes Made: No additions or planned additions of SAFER barriers have been made.

Comment:  Track spokeswoman Diana Brennan recently told FOX Sports that tire packs are the preferred protective barrier of all the series that compete at Sonoma.  She added that the track would adhere to any future recommendations from either NASCAR or SMI.

Given the “forgiveness” of this track’s layout, responsible protections seem to be in place.  I would caution them not to become complacent, however; and to get ahead of a problem before one develops.
