Out Of Nowhere (2007)

This is the kind of finish that makes you remember why you fell in love with NASCAR in the first place. There were two laps to go in the Great American race and it looked like Mark Martin would finally win his first Daytona 500. Unfortunately for Martin, Harvick played spoiler to that plan by jumping from 7th to first in two laps and beating the veteran to the line.

Not only were fans were treated to a wild drag race finish, they also witnessed one of the wildest last-lap crashes in Daytona 500 history. It all started when Kyle Busch got loose on the final turn of the race and ran into the quarter panel of Matt Kenseth. This caused both Kenseth and Busch to spin out in front of the pack and take several other cars with them.

Luckily all the drivers involved in the incident made it out unscathed, even Clint Bowyer, who finished the race on his roof and on fire. In the end, it was a great win, an exciting finish and one of the most memorable Daytona 500’s in a long time. With that being said, there’s one Daytona 500 moment that beats this one by a mile!
