NASCAR: 10 Drivers That Need To Improve In 2016
No. 7 – Greg Biffle
If you are wondering why Greg Biffle is in this list, his past two seasons have been very awful for him. He is considered a very consistent driver but this recent string of poor finishes has left many people wondering if Biffle is past his prime and should consider retirement or if the Roush organization should move on from him and place a more capable driver in the car for the 2017 season. In 2014, Biffle managed a finish of 14th place finish in the standings which wasn’t bad considering he had to race his way into the Chase on the strength of 3 top 5’s and 11 top 10’s. That same tactic didn’t work in 2015 as his overall production dropped significantly, Biffle only managed 3 top 5’s and 4 top 10’s while experiencing the worst average start (19.9) and average finish (20.0) since his rookie season. Biffle might be past his prime as a driver and with father time not really in his favor, Biffle has to find a way to get better and faster in 2016 if he hopes to maintain a ride with Roush-Fenway Racing and with the rumor mill rolling out swirls of how his contract may be coming to an end in 2016. The only hope for Biffle is that there is a huge resurgence in Roush and his cars that will provide Greg Biffle with better equipment. With a new crew chief on the box for 2016, Biffle is looking to make the Chase and push once again for a championship in his #16 race car.
