Number 5: Martinsville – April 2004

Significance: Last Cup Win

Commentary: This was Rusty’s 55th and final Cup series win in his career.  It was also his only win in the then NEXTEL Cup Series, as all of his previous 54 wins had been in the Winston Cup Series.  This win was also his only win in a Dodge. This win also showed that Rusty can compete with today’s contemporary drivers such as Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Bobby Labonte. One never knows when that last win will come, but to achieve it at one of the series’ legendary short tracks is appropriate – that’s where Wallace was at his best.
