All Four HMS Drivers Make The Chase

Team Hendrick will not have the dominant year in 2016 that JGR had in 2015 but they will be sending all of their drivers into the Chase.

Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chase Elliott will all makes the Chase via wins while Kasey Kahne will make it based on points before he wins during the Chase. Johnson and Earnhardt Jr. should come as no surprise when it comes to making the Chase given their recent track records and success in NASCAR. Kahne should have made the Chase in 2015 had he not put in a dreadful performance in the 10 races leading up to the Chase.

The only real wild card for 2016 is Elliott. As I mentioned earlier in this piece, Elliott is going to be on of the rookies who wins in 2016. I’m not saying he makes it far in the Chase but his win in the first 26 races will be enough to get him into NASCAR’s version of the playoffs.
