True or False: Tony Stewart Will Win In 2016 And Make The Chase

  • Christopher Olmstead – Originally I would have said true on both counts but I guess this all depends on the injury that he suffered and whether or not that impacts him racing in 2016. If the injury is resolved quickly, I see him winning and making the Chase.
  • Jason Higgins – True.  I think the lower downforce package helps Smoke (who clearly disliked the old aero package).  And he will be supremely motivated to make his last year as a Sprint Cup driver a successful one.
  • Joseph Shelton – False: Stewart, tragically, is done. He’ll have strong runs and do better than he has in the past three years, but unless he lucks out by strategy, he’s not going back to Victory Lane.
  • Mike Hutton – Yes – you don’t keep a 3-time Champion winless for 3 years in a row. Richmond spring race.
  • Cole Mentzel – False. As much as I love Tony Stewart and as cool as it would be, he just has not been the same driver these last few seasons and he struggled mightily in 2015. With no wins or top-5’s and just three top-10’s last year, I just don’t see it happening.
  • Martin Feigen – True, Smoke gets at least one, and contends for the title changing the narrative to will he still retire.
