Though Vickers’ future is uncertain, a great race could provide a new opportunity.

Finding a reliable team and car is most important to any NASCAR driver and that is exactly what Brian Vickers will be looking to accomplish in 2016.

In 2015, Vickers was with Michael Waltrip racing, but since then, the team has ceased operations. Clint Bowyer went to HScott Motorsports while David Ragan went to BK Racing. With Vickers’ health concerns, he never found a new home. A good finish in the Daytona 500 could provide him with a chance to find a new team.

That helps the No. 14 team. They will have a hungry driver in their machine that will be looking for any momentum at all after only two races in 2015. With the motivation of a good finish coming into play, SHR will have a very determined driver come race day.

If Vickers is able to impress in the No. 14 car, he could find himself in a great situation for the rest of 2016.
