Vickers has had plenty of great teammates to prepare him for a stage like this.

During his first four seasons in the Cup Series, Vickers had the opportunity to be a part of Hendrick Motorsports and got to be on a team with drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Terry Labonte, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch.

Though Johnson and Busch were not the forces that they are today, they still had the mentality that got them to their current statuses. In terms of Gordon and Labonte, they were both established and had a combined total of six championships.

Just being in the garage with drivers like that gave Vickers a great starting place and he gained plenty of new knowledge of the sport by learning from drivers who had gone the distance.

Having the opportunity to race with legends is something that can help Vickers prepare for the media and standards that will come with racing in a car driven by a guy like Tony Stewart. Knowing how to handle pressure like that is sometimes one of the greatest things a NASCAR driver can learn.
