Bonus Slide No. 2 – 1999 Daytona 500

This Daytona 500 moment was just as good as the 1976 Daytona 500, when Richard Petty and David Pearson duked it out with Pearson emerging victorious. Only in this case, with a battle between Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt both hunting their second Daytona 500 win each. Despite some hair-raising moments and wicked passes as the race wound down, it was Gordon, fresh off his third Winston Cup championship, who managed to hold off Earnhardt for his 43rd-career Winston Cup win.
