This may seem like an odd pick, all things considered, but to me it was a memorable Daytona 500 moment when Ernie Irvan crossed the finish line first that day. Thinking about it, although his career was ended prematurely Ernie Irvan was one of the bonafide greats of NASCAR despite never winning a Winston Cup title. On top of that, he was a versatile and consistent driver, and looking back he was definitely one of the sport’s biggest good guys.

As for the Morgan-McClure team he drove for, it’s a shame the iconic yellow No. 4 Kodak Film entry isn’t around today because it ended up in the victory circle of several major events.
