Winner: The No. 78 Team

Martin Truex Jr. and the rest of Furniture Row Racing exploded onto the scene last season in a big way. Truex Jr. had easily his best season to date as he won just his third career Cup Series race to go along with eight top-5’s and 22 top-10’s. He went on to become a part of the Championship 4, and despite not winning, Truex Jr. proved that he was ready to become a legitimate threat.

Going into 2016, the team made the change from Chevrolet to Toyota and partnered with Joe Gibbs Racing. The change has proved to be a great decision just two races into the new season.

In the Daytona 500, Truex Jr. and the No. 78 car were a few feet away from winning the biggest race all season. On Sunday, he was a contender late again, leading 34 laps and going back and forth with Kevin Harvick before eventually finishing in 7th place.

The No. 78 team has bust out of the gates looking even more dangerous than they were last year and another great finish at Atlanta has Martin Truex Jr. second overall in the standings, just three points off of the leader.
