4. 2008 Spring Talladega Race: Brad’s bold move

Brad Keselowski won this race. Those are the words spoken by Fox Sports One commentator, Darrel Waltrip, after he and the rest of the world watched Brad Keselowski earn his first win in the craziest of ways. It all started on the last turn of the race, where Keselowski pulled to the inside of Edwards, but got loose and ended up spinning The Roush Fenway Racing driver out.

Edwards then made contact with Ryan Newman, who was running third at the time, causing him to go airborne and crash head on into the catch fence. Edward’s car then plummeted back onto the racing surface on fire and heavily damaged. The wreck pretty much ensured the first win of Keselowski’s career, but also raised a few questions about his over aggressive tendencies on track.

Although Carl Edwards didn’t win the race and was taken out on the final turn by Keselowski, he still put on a show for the fans by climbing out of his race car and sprinting towards the finish line in a Ricky Bobby type fashion.
