8. 2007 Daytona 500: Mark Martin versus Kevin Harvick

If you weren’t a fan of NASCAR before, you were after this race. While that might sound like some corny sentiment that Darrell Waltrip would spew during a post-race show recap, it was also very true when it came to the 2007 last lap battle between Kevin Harvick and Mark Martin in the 2007 Daytona 500.

All eyes were on Martin with two laps to go as the veteran was looking for the very first Daytona 500 victory of his career. Unfortunately for Martin, a few swift moves through the pack and a lucky push in the final turn of the race was just enough for Harvick to beat Martin to the line by just inches.

Not only were fans treated to a photo finish that day, but they also got to witness a multi-car accident that virtually took out half the field. The incident occurred when Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch made contact with each other in the final turn, ultimately resulting in both cars getting loose and whipping out most of the pack. The wreck was so violent, that Clint Bowyer finished the race sliding through the infield on his roof and on fire.
