NASCAR: Winners And Losers From Las Vegas

Loser: Weather At The Track
NASCAR had some pretty interesting races last season, in terms of rain delays, but this weekend at Las Vegas, we got a new taste of how crazy weather can truly get. T
hroughout the day, the wind was incredibly strong with gusts up to 50 mph at times. It was impacting everything at the track as crews were unable to use their hanging pit signs. Also, many banners and plastic coverings in and around pit stalls were blowing everywhere, not to mention the fact that drivers had to fight their cars all day long in the turns.
If that wasn’t enough, rain sprinkled over the track at random times during the race plus a sandstorm moved through the area at one point, making it hard to view the cars in Turns 1 and 2.
With so many different types of weather, there was debris all over the track causing some drivers, like Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney, to attract rather large pieces to their grilles. The weather certainly changed the way drivers raced as they were battling their cars in bizarre conditions.
Hopefully next weekend at Phoenix, fans and drivers alike will get more rays of sunshine to make up for a crazy day in Vegas.
