No. 3 – Struggles Continue For Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson burst onto the NASCAR scene in 2014 and since then he hasn’t done much.

2015 was the Sophomore slump that most in NASCAR felt Larson was going to experience. However, many predicted that 2016 was going to be a bounce-back kind of season for Larson and the No. 42 team. Granted, the 2016 NASCAR season is only three races old, but things up to this point are not looking good for Larson and company.

Las Vegas, much like Atlanta was supposed to be another track where Larson could slide around, run fast and get a good finish. However, things did not go as planned for Larson who fell back into the pack early in the race before eventually going a lap down. Larson did battle back to get himself into the lucky dog position only to have the caution come out because of him. It’s never a good feeling in NASCAR to need a caution and then be the cause of the caution that you needed.

Later on in the race Larson had further issues that resulted in more damage to his No. 42 machine and ultimately led to a 34th-place finish. It might only be three races but Larson needs to figure out a way to start getting some better finishes. Things have a way of getting worse quickly in NASCAR. A bad three-race stretch can easily turn into a bad seven-race stretch or more if Larson isn’t careful.
