Number 5:  1996 Daytona 500 – The “Dale and Dale Show – Round II”

Significance:  Second (and final) Daytona 500 win, father Ned in the TV booth again to call the finish

Commentary:  In what many describe as one of the best 500’s of the 1990’s, Dale collected his second Daytona 500 victory in 1999.  Dale Earnhardt, Sr. again finished second to Jarrett, dubbing the race the “Dale and Dale show, Round II,” the first coming in 1993 when Jarrett took his initial trip to victory lane at DIS (more on this to follow.)  Jarrett, Earnhardt, Sr. and Ken Schrader staged a late-race duel in which Jarrett prevailed.
