Contender No. 3: Kevin Harvick

Stats at Bristol:

  • Wins: 1
  • Top-5’s: 10
  • Top-10’s: 13
  • Laps Led: 721

It’s common knowledge for one to know that Kevin Harvick is going to be one of the top drivers every weekend. Throughout his 30 starts at Bristol, he has finished in the top-10 in ten difference races, which is tied for the second-most among active drivers. Harvick’s lone win at the track came back in the spring 2005, as he led 109 laps.

This season has been yet another season of success so far for Harvick. Coming off of a championship in 2014 and a second-place finish in 2015, he has flown out of the gates again, already locking up his spot in the Chase after a win in Phoenix.

The most amazing part of his 2016 campaign is that he has led at least one lap in every race except for the Daytona 500 and whenever he does get to the front, he tends to stay there for a while, with totals of 72, 131, 139 and 142 laps led.

Harvick has had a lot of bad days at Bristol, but he always finds a way to rebound, just like last weekend at Texas when he battled back for a top-10, even though a penalty changed his plans. He will be looking for his second win of the season this Sunday.
