Loser: The Future Of Night Racing At Richmond
The last time there was a scheduled day race at Richmond was all the way back in 1997. Even though last year’s spring race was on a Sunday afternoon, it had been delayed because of rain.
This time around, we saw a very competitive race, as we’ve seen from just about every race this season due to the package changes. It seemed like there was a lot more happening than we’d seen at the track in the past.
Jeff Gordon provided an interesting quote during the race (via @RIRInsider on Twitter):
"“I’ve never seen this many passes before at Richmond.”"
Even other drivers like Jimmie Johnson pitched in their thoughts on the day race and expressed their support.
Our cars need to slip and slide. #DayRacePlease https://t.co/TgLfnfmUEl

We know the fall race at Richmond is going to stay as a Saturday night race, but with so much entertainment under the sun on Sunday, could we potentially see even more day racing there?
