Stats at Kansas:

  • Wins: 3
  • Top-5’s: 8
  • Top-10’s: 16
  • Laps Led: 601

There’s no denying Jimmie Johnson’s success at 1.5-mile tracks. Four of his five wins in 2015 came on the ovals as Johnson has made a name for himself with his continued excellence at one of NASCAR’s signature track lengths.

Kansas is one track where Johnson has stood out over the years. He currently has the most wins there out of any active driver with three and he’s had some pretty big days by leading 124 laps in 2008 and 197 laps in 2011. He’s finished outside of the top-10 just three times, leading to an average finish of 8.7 and his most recent win at Kansas came last season in the spring race.

Johnson is continuing his incredible career with another strong start to 2016 as he’s picked up wins at Atlanta and Auto Club. He has finished no lower than fourth at 1.5-mile tracks this year.

Last season, he was able to turn his luck around in the race and pick up a win at Kansas by leading just 10 laps. He’s more than capable of getting it done again this weekend.
