Loser: Jamie McMurray’s Jackman

Last weekend at Talladega, Jamie McMurray came out as one of the few drivers that survived the chaos. His fourth-place finish is his best finish of the season so far as he has posted only one other top-10 through 11 races (Fontana).

This weekend at Kansas, McMurray was looking to keep the momentum rolling at a track that he has struggled at throughout his career. However, his plan did not exactly succeed as he was called to pit road for an unapproved body adjustment on Lap 31.

Apparently, during the last pit stop, the jackman had “hip-checked” the right side of McMurray’s car in order to give it more downforce, since Kansas is a fast track. Though some crew members have gotten away with that in the past by making it look like an accident, McMurray’s team was not that lucky.

After all was said and done, he was down two laps and in last place. He ended up finishing the race in 26th.

McMurray will regroup and head to Dover with confidence, as he finished in the top-10 there during both races of the 2015 season.
