Good: Fall Talladega Race Changed

If 13 cautions, 33 wrecked cars and three flips weren’t enough to convince NASCAR officials that there were major problems with the current racing product at Talladega Superspeedway, then nothing would have. Luckily for NASCAR drivers and fans, NASCAR did the right thing and removed Talladega as the cut-off race of the first round of the Chase. The date was replaced by Kansas Motor Speedway, which will now serve as the cut-off race in the first round.

Is the change perfect? No, not by a long shot, but at least NASCAR is trying to do something after the wreck-fest that was The spring Talladega race. With that being said, hopefully this change will lead to even more effective changes on NASCAR’s part in the future and eventually to the elimination of Talladega Superspeedway from the Chase entirely.
