Bad: Playoff Formats For Lower Series

Change isn’t always a good thing. While it should be noted that The addition of a playoff format for the Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series was a step in the right direction to help turn young drivers into household names, its drawbacks are essentially defeating the purpose of the format and making it even harder for young drivers to establish themselves in the sport.

For example, the format, which virtually guarantees a Chase spot to any driver that wins a race in the regular season, is essentially useless when Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series drivers are getting beaten out by Cup drivers on a weekly basis. Not only is that taking away publicity, victories and spots in the Chase from rising stars, it also makes the newly minted playoff system seem unnecessary.
