NASCAR: Winners And Losers From Dover
By Cole Mentzel
Dover provided the NASCAR universe with many shocks and surprises on Sunday. Take a look at a few winners and losers from the AAA 400 Drive For Autism.
It was arguably the most entertaining race of the entire season so far. Dover delivered thrills to NASCAR fans in attendance and at home, with many twists and turns throughout the day.
The race was defined by track position. If a driver was able to get out front, it was easy for them to control the race hold off challengers. If someone did somehow work their way by, it usually took around 10-20 laps to do it.
Sunny skies and cloud cover impacted the concrete surface all day long along with the constant rubber pick up during cautions and the blackened track once racing got underway again.
Kyle Larson (2nd) and Chase Elliott (3rd) were among a few young drivers that excelled at a very unique track. They battled late in the race as “The Big One” opened up the racetrack and led to a few big finishes.
In the end, Matt Kenseth was able to hold on and pick up his first win of the season, clinching a spot in the Chase. Only nine guaranteed Chase spots remain up for grabs after a fun day at the Monster Mile.
