Winner: Toyota

Surprise, surprise. A Toyota came out on top yet again. Martin Truex Jr.’s win made it the seventh win for the manufacturer in the Cup Series’ last eight races.

Every member of Joe Gibbs Racing and Furniture Row Racing has won a race this season and all five are within the top-8 positions in the Chase standings.

There’s no doubt that Toyota is taking over as the dominant manufacturer in NASCAR. One of their drivers (Kyle Busch) is coming off of a championship season. They are currently leading the manufacturer standings for the 2016 season and could potentially end Chevrolet’s streak of 13-straight manufacturers’ championships, dating back to 2003.

If that wasn’t enough, Truex’s win this weekend led to a pretty crazy stat. Since May 6th, Toyota has won every Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series race. Wins from Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr., Erik Jones, Denny Hamlin, William Byron and Matt Crafton have truly showed the strength that the company currently has.

This weekend was just another successful step forward for Toyota Racing.
